General

A HANaccount consists of a logincode and password. The logincode is unique, personal and can never be changed.

Select Change details and password on the HANaccount portal in order to change your private email address (note: you must login first). A confirmation email will be sent to the new email address. You must confirm the change within one week.

Select "Change details and password" on the HANaccount portal in order to change your mobile phone number (note: you must login first). A validation code will be sent by text message to the phone number provided. Enter this code on the “Change HANaccount” page. If you do not receive the code quickly enough, please try again later.

If you created a HANaccount via the website, and provided a private email address (or mobile phone number), then go to Reset Password on this site and request a new password via self service. If you have not provided HAN with a private number or email address, the ServiceDesk can issue you a new password. You will need to visit us in person and bring along a valid proof of identity.

If you have included a private email address in your HANaccount details, go to Retrieve forgotten login code on this site. Your login code will be sent to you by email. If you have not included a private email address in your details, you cannot solve this problem using Self service. In that case, please contact the ServiceDesk.

Employees

You can create a HANaccount on this site. Have your personal details ready. If your personal details have already been registered, you will have access to our facilities after first completing a number of steps. If this is not the case, then follow the initial steps of the HANaccount request process. Your request will be temporarily on hold while approval is sought from your (future) manager. This can take some time. You will receive an email once your manager has approved your request.

You will need to provide your citizen service number (formerly known as a sofinummer, also known as BSN), private email address and mobile phone number (not required).

The standard email address format for HAN employees is: FirstName.Surname@han.nl. In special cases exceptions may be made.

The details stored in the personnel registration system are used to create email addresses. If these details are incorrect, contact the employee personnel and salary administration (PSA) in your faculty or Service Unit immediately. Wait for corrections to be made first in the personnel registration system before you continue with the ‘Request Access’ procedure.

Employees with a HANaccount automatically receive access to the digital work environment https://work.han.nl. They also receive access to the digital learning environments.

Employees can log in to the digital work environment ((https://work.han.nl) using their HANaccount. You now have access to the basic structure. Access to a main work group or work group can be requested through the site administrator.

Use your existing HANaccount to reapply for access rights to IT facilities. Have you forgotten your login code? Then please contact the ServiceDesk for further assistance. Have you forgotten your password? Go to Reset Password on this site and request a new password via self service.

Students

If you apply to study at HAN, you automatically receive an email and a letter about creating a HAN account. Wait for the email "Confirmation of application HAN" which is sent to the email address you entered in Studielink. Once you've received it, you can create your HANaccount.

You will need to provide your private email address, mobile phone number (not required) and Han student number.

Students who have a HANaccount and meet all the enrolment requirements will automatically receive access to the Digital Learning and Work Environments.

Students are periodically checked to see if they fully meet enrolment conditions (including tuition fee payment). If not, their HANaccount may be blocked. Pay the outstanding tuition amount as quickly as possible. After the payment has been reconciled, you will be able to use your HANaccount again in 1 or 2 days.

Ask at your course department which learning environment they use.

The standard email address format for HAN students is:
Initial(s).Surname@student.han.nl or Initial(s).SurnamePrefixSurname@student.han.nl.

Your student number can be found on all correspondence you have received from the HAN's Student Registration Administration (Student Inschrijf Administratie (SIA)), including the authorisation form.

If this is the second time (or more) that you are starting a study at the HAN and you meet all registration requirements, you will receive a message stating that you HANaccount has been automatically reactivated. You do not need to create a new HANaccount or to request access as a student or course participant.
Login to the HANaccount site to see which services you have access to.

Once IT has been informed that your study has ended, you will receive an email explaining how long you will have access to the various IT services.

On the day that you receive this mail:
- You will no longer have access to Surfspot and Alluris;
- You will be able to use the wireless network and Insite for one more month;
- Access to HANmail, the Digital Learning and Work Environment, DPF and the network will expire two months later.

This gives you two months to save any files that are in your private folders on the network (if you so desire).

HAN Relations

Guest lecturers and student trainee leaders are examples of HAN relations. They are people who do not have a fixed desk at the HAN, but at times may need to use some ICT facilities for the work they are doing at the HAN.

To request access to HAN’s intranet, for example, you need approval from a manager. This manager can discuss your request with the contact person that you provide.

We strive to complete your request as quickly as possible. Because a manager must first give approval, this can take some time. You will receive an email once approval has been granted.

Course Participants

There are 2 types of HAN course participants:
a) course participants who have registered for a programme and have received a HAN student number
b) course participants who only need access to the Digital Learning and Work Environment and do not have a HAN student number.

See below for the applicable instructions:
a) Each course participant must create his or her own HANaccount and request access. Details entered are checked against the student registration system. If all details are correct, you will receive access immediately with your HANaccount.
Start your request now.

b) As course participant you also need to create a HANaccount and then request access to the Digital Learning and Work Environment. For ‘Request access’ you select ‘geen van bovenstaande’ and then select DLWO. After a manager has approved the request, you will receive an email informing you that you have received access.
